I
feel I would make a good JCAR Director because being positive is
not enough. You still have to do your part. You still have to take
action. Winners know that a positive mental attitude is vital if
you want to be successful. However, being positive is only one of
the keys to becoming successful. Probably the most important key
to success is TAKING ACTION. All the principles of techniques for
winning will never do you a bit of good if you never act on them.
Leadership
is, without a doubt, a critical role, but it doesn't have much to
do with the challenge of turning one individual's talents into performance.
A critical step toward being a better leader is becoming self-aware
of what kind of person you are now. It requires honestly assessing
both your personality's strengths and weaknesses and how they can
affect your leadership style. They have to start inside, and then
move outside. Walk the talk. This is all about whether the leader
practices what they preach.
The
key is to have enough confidence to begin and stick with it. Recognizing
what you're not good at can make you a better leader. But you aren't
going to learn those new skills unless you're put in real-life situations
where you have to use them which would be the Director position.
It's not sufficient to just take classes and read books about leadership,
you have to go out and practice it every day. Instead, I found that
the best thing you can do is understand your own innate gifts and
identify your strengths so you can develop a leadership style that
will connect you with your purpose and allow you to articulate it
to others.

I
am thrilled and excited about the opportunity to become a member of
the Board of Directors of JCAR. I truly believe I bring vast knowledge
and experience as well as a level of enthusiasm and volunteerism that
will benefit JCAR and its members.
Prior
to obtaining my real estate license 12 years ago, I was in the publishing
industry for over 20 years. I wrote for the Denver Post, was advertising
manager/co-publisher/owner of The Reporter Newspaper in Brighton
and ad manager for The Sentinel Newspapers. I have published four
books and previously owned and operated a retail business for over
7 years.
Volunteering
has always been a vital part of my life. I was the first woman member
of the Kiwanis Club in Brighton and was Kiwanian of the Year my
first year. I have served on numerous committees with various Chambers
and chaired many fundraising events. Most recently, I headed the
CRS Chapter with a Heart fundraiser to help our real estate peers
who were victims of Hurricane Katrina. Currently, I am a member
of the Board of Directors of Colorado CRS Chapter #1, a member of
Communications Committee for the Council of Residential Specialists
and a member of the Professional Standards Panel for JCAR.
2007
was an incredible year for me being honored with both Colorado CRS
of the Year and the prestigious National Association of REALTORS
Omega Tau Rho medal of service.

My
association with other REALTORS at local, state and national levels
has greatly impacted my career. They are quality people, above average,
and definitely not afraid of hard work. By engaging these people,
it has both inspired and encouraged me to be a true professional
as they are. That is what I strive to be and I believe that is why
I was awarded the 2004 JCAR REALTOR® of the year.
Having
been a member for the past 22 years, I certainly see our member's
struggles from the trenches. I understand, to some extent, what
the members are looking for. I will strive to achieve what is in
the best interest of our members.
I believe
in leadership. I have demonstrated leadership in my career with
the Jefferson County Association of REALTORS® and in my business.
I believe it is my experience and my desire to do the job that will
make me a good CAR Director. The leadership skills I have developed
over the years are an asset I bring to the table. As a CAR Director
I hope o come to some consensus as to what our members believe are
the problems and work toward overcoming and resolving those challenges.
I don't get to make the rules but I will be part of the team that
implements change if needed.

Integrity,
honesty, compassion and pride are characteristics I see in our industry
everyday but not everyone knows that about us REALTORS. Not everyone
is aware. In fact, not even all of us REALTORS are aware of what opportunities
lay before us within our JCAR community. These opportunities are the
means to develop strength in our industry. Knowing this, I would be
honored to be a JCAR Director elect so that I may become an active
member and leader who helps bring the goals and responsibilities to
light for our real estate community. I would love the opportunity
to work for "us" by strengthening my involvement in the
committees and working hard to improve any area I am assigned to achieve.
As a second generation REALTORS with six years experience, I am well
qualified for the position of JCAR Director and will perform positively
and effectively in this role. I believe we can all make a difference
in our every day lives by getting more involved in JCAR, as it's not
just the location of our continuing education. There is so much more
to JCAR and I would encourage us all to get involved. Please vote
for me as I believe I can help make a difference in our community
and also feel it's my turn to give back to those around me! I am motivated
to commit my time and energy to the needs of our industry. Let's take
the bull by the horns and make a difference! "Us" REALTORS
are here to stay! Please cast your vote for me as I will work hard
for you! Thank you in advance!!! |

I
am Annie Schneider with Remax Professionals, Inc., I am a current
director and seeking re-election for a director seat. I've been
on the board going into my third year. We have many items and calls
to action that we are presently working on; and I would love to
see some of them through. I am seeking your vote so I can accomplish
just that!
I've
been with Remax for the past six years, and prior to that I was
with my former office for more than 10 years. I believe in staying
put and getting the work done! I was raised around the world (my
father was an officer in the Air Force) and graduated in Iowa (home
state to both of my parents). I've been blessed to call Colorado
home for the past 21 years. I am married to a Denver native and
we have one grown child who is married and we have a grandbaby!
Additionally we have two elementary children at home. For recreation
I run marathons, do triathlons, run with my GoldenDoodle puppy,
and keep up with my children. I have more than enough stamina to
complete the task set forth in being a representative for you on
our board at JCAR. Please vote for me! Thank you.

To
my clients, I have become an advisor, counselor and trusted agent.
I believe that serving the community is as important as serving
my clients. Currently, I volunteer as a Director for JCAR on the
Board of Directors, on the Government Affairs Committee, the Metrolist
Rules and Regulations committee and am past President for the Builder
REALTOR® Council of Metropolitan Denver. Combining these efforts
has allowed me to both become a familiar face with my peers and
to become a knowledgeable community leader.
I am
a REALTOR® whom friends and neighbors trust. I believe strongly
in the power of goal setting, with a positive attitude and the desire
to be the best. I also believe that balance is the key to a healthy
life and a thriving business. My involvement in social circles has
proven to be a great source for a strong referral based business.
My knack for building relationships and my no-nonsense approach
has already gained me a great deal of respect in this highly competitive
industry.
I would
be delighted to continue my service in the roles I have started
in the past few years. I would make a great director because I am
apprised of the current issues and can pick up where I left off
without having to get adjusted as a new director will. I will make
a great director also, because I enjoy serving the REALTOR®
members and improving their quality of business.

Real
estate has been good to me, and I look forward to returning the
favor. Having entered the business in 2002 when the internet-based
MLS was already firmly established, I have honed my own internet
and computer skills, endeavoring to stay ahead of the curve. That
effort has been a primary contributor to my personal success.
At
the same time, I have been willing to share my success with others,
writing about real estate in my weekly newspaper column, which I
pay to publish each Thursday in YourHub.com. The columns are archived
online at www.JimSmithColumns.com, and I encourage you to review
my writings in deciding whether to give me your vote.
The
discipline of writing this weekly column has itself contributed
to my knowledge of the industry. That's because of the research
that each topic demanded in order, frankly, to avoid embarrassing
myself! Just read the titles of the 200+ columns I have written
to see what I mean.
I love
this profession, and I love seeing it practiced with high competence,
high ethics, and dedication. I enjoy my commitment to doing real
estate right. If you give me the opportunity, I would like to put
my energy to work on behalf of JCAR and its members.

I
believe my previous experience with JCAR, CAR and NAR will be a
great benefit to me as I fulfill the duties of a CAR Director. Recently,
the National Association of REALTORS® honored me with the Omega
Tau Rho Medallion of Service. I have served on the JCAR Board of
Directors as a director, the board secretary, the chair-elect and
the chairman. I have served the Colorado Association of REALTORS®
as a member of CORPAC, RSDC, SLC and various special task forces.
Currently, I am the chair of the RSDC committee. This past year,
I served as a director of the National Association of REALTORS®
representing JCAR.
I have
helped with three fundraisers for Habitat for Humanity, chaired
a special committee for CAR to create a manual for candidate interview
teams, and helped raise over $100,000 for Fastracks. I have served
the communities in which I have lived on various committees and
boards.
Because
of my extensive experience in this industry and my involvement with
JCAR, CAR and NAR, I believe I am more aware of issues impacting
our members. Working with CAR and JCAR we must make not only the
membership, but also the public understand that the real estate
market is not national but local.
Thank
you for your consideration.

I
have been a resident of Jefferson County for 41 years. I graduated
from Bear Creek HS, Metropolitan State College with a major in Land
Use Planning and from the University of Denver with a master's degree
in GIS. GIS is geographic information systems, which describes land
parcels and their related attributes - economic, demographic, physical,
and any attribute you want to embellish it with to make a specialized
map for your particular need. It is an incredible tool for real
estate agents. I became a REALTOR because GIS would be a great asset
for realty purposes. However, it was the early nineties and the
project, in conjunction with a new MLS, did not materialize. Today
ESRI the leader in GIS software has a real estate division.
I have had my license since the early nineties and I started out
in leasing commercial property in the Park Meadows area before it
was built. After that, I moved my license to Golden, sold real estate,
and completed 1031 exchanges for clients. Then for 10 years, I did
property management in Golden and Lakewood for an out of town owner.
After taking care of my ailing mother for two years before she passed
away, I got back into selling real estate. Presently I am with Peggy
O Realty.
With this knowledge of real estate and technology, I can help increase
members knowledge and help newer agents coming into the business.
I believe I will be able to benefit JCAR members, as I will help
further their education and impart knowledge to and from their Board
of Directors.
I am willing to serve on various committees as needed. After this,
I would like to serve on the state board and help to further the
real estate industry.

Safety
Tip #11
Shield your computer from
e-mail viruses.
Computer viruses can impair and seriously damage your
computer. Viruses are often distributed via attachments
in e-mail spam. Never open an attachment from someone
you don't know, and, if you receive a strange or impersonal-sounding
message from a familiar address, check with that person
to make sure that they really sent it.
